Welcome! I’m a freelance writer and Children’s Librarian at the Webster Public Library outside of Rochester, New York. ALA Editions recently published my first book, Helping Homeschoolers in the Library, and this blog represents my continuing efforts to explore the homeschooling world and help my colleagues build good relationships with the families in this growing community of heavy library users.

You can find more of my writings on my personal blog at www.watat.com, or feel free to contact me directly via email at adrienne.furness@gmail.com.

Thanks for visiting!

I just sent a link to the librarian in charge of the homeschool crowds at Frisco Public. This is new for her, and we have quite a large homeschool population, so I’m sure this will be a big help–as will your book when it comes out! Thanks!

That’s great! I’m hoping to do a Talk Table program at PLA in Minneapolis in 2008 (http://www.placonference.org/). So if either (or both!) of you are going, that would be a great time to talk and share some ideas. :)
