Service to Homeschooling Families, San Francisco: Pre-Workshop Assignment

Welcome attendees of Infopeople’s upcoming “Service to Homeschooling Families” workshop at the San Francisco Public Library (Thursday, December 4 from 9:00am-4:30pm)! I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you in less than a couple weeks. In preparation for the workshop, I thought some of you might like to get a head start on exploring homeschooling. One of my favorite websites for newbies is the Homeschool Diner, a website maintained by homeschooler Julie Shepherd Knapp. Her “Guide to Homeschooling Approaches and Curriculum (and Everything)” is designed for the new homeschooler, but it’s also an excellent resource for library staff who would like to begin learning about the homeschooling world. I highly recommend reading the article and exploring some of her links. If you want to post a comment here to let me know what you think about what you’re reading, I’d certainly be glad to hear from you.
